Dawn Morrow Today’s Muse

Sometimes someone you meet on social media will not only vibe with you but touch you in ways you can not expect or fathom. This was the case when Dawn Morrow from 2morrowsmuse (a husband and wife creative duo) started following my journey on tiktok.

Dawn was one of my earlier supporters on tiktok and loved to buy stickers from me for her AMAZING sticker wall collection!

As time went by we found ourselves bonding over photography, wild horses, chronic illness and our plus sheep companions; my sheep Betsy who belonged to my late father and Dawn’s Lammie, who follows her on lamventures.

Lammie and Dawn have a very special story.

Dawn had won a trip to the Lamposium Conference, a conference held by the LAM foundation to educate patients and their families about LAM: lymphangioleiomyomatosis, a progressive disease which affects the lungs, lymph nodes, kidneys and sometimes other organs.

Dawn met Jeannie, a kindred spirit, at the airport and shared a taxi to the conference. Bonding along the way, they found out that they had been paired as roommates for the event, to both their pleasure and surprise.

While at the conference, Dawn’s photographer nature had her exploring the city whenever there was spare time to adventure and take pictures. Coming from high altitude Colorado, Dawn felt she could conquer Cincinnati! She felt so healthy and free from the confines LAM imposed on her body here.

On one of these excursions, Dawn convinced two friends from the conference Jeannie and Lisa to join her in taking in a view from the top of a highrise that had an elevator service for 2$.

When the trio made it all the way up to the top, they then realized they had a final flight of stairs to take to make it to the observation area.

The three women were determined not to keep this final obstacle from them achieving their goal. Dawn carried up Jeannie and Lisa’s O2 tanks and together they steeled themselves for the work ahead. Finally, they made it to the top!

It was then that Jeannie paused and pulled out a lamb plushie and declared “Everytime I do something I didn’t think I could do, or manage something someone said I shouldn’t do I take out my Lammie and take a picture and post it”

Lammie struck a chord and later during that conference, Dawn bought her own Lammie so that she could have a travel companion to go on lamventures together with.

Dawn

I am not sure if I have met such an authentic, loving or welcoming person as Dawn.

She has a way of making me not only feel welcome in her space but also to want to epically live life to my absolute FULLEST and not let my own illnesses hold me back.

I hope dearly some day that I will meet Dawn in person and that

She, Lammie, Betsy and I can all go on an adventure together!

Dawn and her husband Douglas are beautifully creative souls and you can find their work here on their website.

Dawn takes awe inspiring photography and does a lot of education and advocacy work for the wild mustang herds in Colorado. She also does other crafts like tie dye, macrame, origami and crochet! Doug is a composer, pianist and musical theatre music director!

An ipad lays on a table with an aple pencil across it. On the screen is a coloring book illustration of a wild mustang in colorado.

Dawn requested that I create a horse coloring page and lovingly allowed me to use some of her photographs as a reference.

This image will be available to download for free in my May 5th Newsletter.

I truly feel blessed to have met two such beautiful people.
